we had snow days on Wednesday and Thursday, so this week really flew by. All we did this week was continue to fight with glow-forge on uploading my design. I spent most of Friday helping Natalie with her design, since there is nothing more I can do to mine. I need to finish up the rest of my tine home, so that is ready to print when I get back on Monday. Time to go sleep in 2nd and 3rd hour.

SketchUP is a new application that none of us here are used to yet. For our tiny home designs, it would be too complicated to do slanted shapes for the roof, and other complex designs, so we will be sticking to box like designs. The 2 images i've selected are good examples of simple designs. My house is most likely going to start from a simple box design, and work my way out from there. I'll try to include windows and a door.
This week has really become grind time for our glow-forge lamps. The stupid website continues to kick me off when I try to upload my completed design. I've been done with my lamp for weeks now, and all the other kids are catching up to me because the glow-forge website sucks. Al that is left to do now is find a file that will allow me to upload my design, and print it.
Finally finished my lamp project. It was kind of a pain to resize everything to fit the 12 x 24 art-board. The design for my lamp came from a building, so I decided to cut out a city skyline design into my pieces. The final product contains 10 interlocking pieces, with a slot in the bottom for an LED light to enter. Today is valentines day, and I have 0 plans this weekend. Hopefully someone will Message me with some plans that are amusing as well - Tyler the Creator.
LAst week, we finally got back to our laser cutting lamp project. I am so close to producing my final product, and i've already come up with a design for the walls. The only thing I have left to figure out is how the light is going to fit into the lamp. Next week, we are starting to work on the google CAD app called sketchup. I'm curious to see how next week will go.

/in a way I want to advertise this like a funny car commercial. In this video there at 2:42 there is a video I want to use as a model for this exam. This video is both serious and funny. All of these videos include shots from different angles, and many different actors and portrayals. I'm going to try and use the same ideas and structure for my video. Last week, I had finally recovered from being sick, so it was all about trying to catch up on work. In here, I began to work on my lamp designs. I decided to model the new world trade center as my design, but trying to interlock the pieces is going to be a challenge. I also need to figure out how to set thew light inside of the structure.
The biggest take I have from this whole experience would still be meeting the voice actor Rob Paulsen. As dumb as it sounds, I grew up watching Jimmy Neutron with it being my favorite show, and I recognized him the minute he walked out onto the stage. He dedicated most of his acting life to inspiring and helping young minds by using his characters to appeal to people's emotions.
In 5 years, I will still go back and look at the picture of him and I, and remember the whole day. This is an experience I would love to go back to. I've been telling people about it here at school, and after school at the shop. What makes a person innovative? Well, to be innovative you first have to be an interesting person, because if you are not, nobody is going to take the time to listen to you. Secondly, you have to have an idea or creation that appeals to people. Something that makes their daily life easier. For this design, I have chosen my old work logo to cut out and print on the glowforge. I think it would be cool to show everybody at the shop what I have been working on. The shop has been a huge part of my life, and I can't think of a better idea to print besides this logo.
Screencasting still not finished. I've been having a hard time trying to get myself to sit down and actually do it, though I know I will. My networking card ideas are coming out just how I imagined, so i'm very excited to see how those print off. The TedX show is coming up soon and I know myself and everyone in this class has been looking forward to that for a while now.
